As one of the first universities to begin a sustainability initiative, we sought out a laundry company with the same environmental goals. ASI far exceeded this criterion. Beyond offering energy efficient machines, the company sweated the details. From helping to redesign our rooms with proper ventilation, electrical and plumping, to creating laundry rooms as a destination, student use has tripled. Partnering with ASI on a "Fill the Stadium" environmentally-friendly marketing program, our students conserved more than 4.5 million gallons of water by simply using the energy efficient machines ASI installed. With proactive, constant maintenance service, ASI has garnered a strong relationship with our institution. As long as this service remains the same and the company continues to offer leading sustainability technologies, I anticipate a long partnership with ASI.

Housing more than 11,000 students on campus posed a challenge when dealing with laundry services internally; trying to keep up with the equipment, service issues and accounting. Once we decided to bring in a company, ASI was the most competitive provider. Their focus in colleges and universities has ensured we exceed our projected revenue goals because ASI knows how to design or enhance build laundry room facilities and maintain the equipment our students use. On top of being specialists in campus laundry, ASI customer service is outstanding. We have one dedicated service technician and although he is an ASI employee, he takes pride and ownership in the university and the success of our laundry rooms; he has become a part of the Indiana University family. We continue our relationship because of the great service our ASI Campus Pro Service field engineer, Jim, provides. If anything is broken, he is here right away and fixes it quickly; that is it. It is important to have good, dependable service for our students. A local presence with quick response is what we need and ASI delivers every time.

When I first joined Northwood University as Director of Residential Life and began communicating with ASI regarding our campus laundry facilities, I was submitting service requests two to three times a day. Therefore, I was pleased that through open communication with the ASI team, we were able to renovate four laundry facilities with limited interruption to our students, drastically reducing service requests. ASI assisted in the design and location of new plumbing and electrical wiring, as well as the installation of new energy efficient top load machines. It was important we keep at least one room open at a time, so ASI worked with us on the delivery of new machines, and made sure the new facilities were up and running as soon as possible. The renovation was completed within just two months, and we are very pleased with their service and support.

Recently, ORU launched a comprehensive green initiative on our campus. Understanding our needs and desires to become more environmentally
friendly, ASI strategized a solution to generate greater water and energy savings in our laundry rooms. With the installation of 82 front-load LG washers we are projecting the conservation of roughly 2 million gallons of water per year alone. Combining this with the improved energy efficiency of the new Speed Queen dryers, we anticipate an impressive savings to our university all while decreasing our environmental impact. Though ASI can deliver ORU significant savings with the new energy efficient machines, it is important to note, it is not always financial reasons why people chose companies. For more than eight years, ASI has done an excellent job and continues to do so.
